PhD Student within Experimental Electrocatalysis

We are currently looking for a post doctoral researcher and or a PhD-student to work in the field of electrocatalysis and experimental surface science at the Center for Individual Nanoparticle Functionality (CINF) at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

Successful Candidates:

The successful candidate will have the responsibility for experiments on model electro-catalysts using instruments in relation to the CINF laboratories. The projects focus on reactivity of mass selected nanoparticles of pure and alloyed metals in relation to the Oxygen Reduction Reaction for use in PEMFC. Another part of the experiments is related to designing and developing new catalyst for oxygen and hydrogen evolution. The successful candidate is also expected to have an extended experience with the broad spectrum of analysis methods used in CINF including for example XPS, XRD and microscopy in general. UHV experience is an advantage but not a necessity.

Qualification Details:

Candidates for the PhD position should have a master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry or Engineering, while the post-doc candidates must have a PhD degree within similar fields.

Approval and enrolment of PhD Student:

The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU. For information about the general requirements for enrolment and the general planning of the scholarship studies, please see the DTU PhD Guide.
