This PhD Courses research topic is the numerical optimization method to the GPU hardware. Although applied to micromagnetic simulations, there is no special knowledge of physics or the magnet necessary. A public interest to numerical methods is needed though.
You will join the work on topics such as numerical techniques to solve a large system of coupled differential equations, fast summation techniques, fast Fourier transformation, etc. Both the underlying algorithms and their implementation on the CPU and GPU hardware should be optimized. A knowledge of C / C + + is required for the implementation of low-level GPU. Another part of the software is now written in C + + / Java / Python / Go and scripting language. They can be extended by modules written in high level programming language.
